My dog

It was love at the first sight.

I will never forget our first meeting: faithful expression in his eyes, excellent appetite, wet tongue and constantly wagging butt. It took us quite a while to pick the right name for this handsome male, and finally our daughter named him Boy.

We all were surprised by his tireless energy - he wanted to be everywhere at the same time. He earnestly watched us all to give him attention, kept jumping from lap to lap.

For the first time in my life the dog became very precious and important to me. Everyhting in him gets me moved: the way he jumps into the water and snorts as he swims, how he listens attentively to the leaves rustle in the forest and takes this important "pose", how he meets me jumping with joy and bringing his whole weight on me, how funny he looks eating a watermelon... I just can go on and on all day.

I can turn all his imperfections into strong points without batting an eyelid. If he does not submit to training - it means he's got a strong character. Restless - means healthy and active.

He has a fine understanding of who is stronger. He respects my husband, but they play games of more active, manly kind.

With my daughter they feel like they are of same age - mischievous and disobedient kids. He can sense my love and I see that he never doubts it - he knows I admire and adore him. He can take liberties to be naughty in my presence and I will not punish him.

Now I think about it and realize that he is the best dog in the world.
