Usually for such big and lightful holidays we get prepared thoroughly and well in advance - beginning with fasting, confession, cleaning the house and ending with the holiday preparations in the kitchen.
One of the symbols of Easter is a special cake - "pasca". This year I cooked it myself. And I think it turned out good!

We went to celebrate with my husband's parents in the village.
The church service started at midnight.
We were a little late. The tiny church could not accomodate all the people who wanted to come in.
Very many people were standing outside.
Those who were inside the temple had left their Easter baskets outside.
The greatest ceremonial moment, when the priest proclaimed: "Christ resurrected!" and all present congregation replied with trepidation: "Truly resurrected!"
At the end of the liturgy people stood around the church and got ready for the ritual of blessing the Easter baskets.
The procession walks three times around the church and then begins the process of sanctification of the Easter baskets, decorated with embroidered towels, periwinkle flowers and candles.
Here is our basket.
We usually set the holiday table at home, Surely we put on the table everything that was in the basket. We all pray together in unity.
We were coming home, accompanied by the rain. And the mood was kind of... not really joyful.
It's interesting post! Thank you!
